The AIPP

I am proud to be a fully Accredited Professional Photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP). But, what does this mean for you?  Here’s an explanation from the AIPP website itself:

“The AIPP is Australia’s leading membership body for the photography community and is the only professional photography organisation which provides a standard assurance through its ongoing accreditation program.

With a history of more than 40 years in the photographic industry, the AIPP has become Australia’s leading professional photography institute.  Catering to photographic enthusiasts, students and industry veterans, membership with the AIPP is a symbol of one’s professional ability and dedication to the photographic sector and community.  Fully accredited members are tested for their expertise in the field and are required to have a minimum of two years working experience as a professional photographer.

The AIPP Logo is your assurance that the accredited member has been fully tested and has proven his or her expertise, professionalism and ability in the photographic industry.”

As an AIPP Accredited Professional Photographer, I have had to prove that I am:

  • Assessed and Proven – Accredited members are judged by an assessment panel to ensure that each accredited member achieves and maintains an expected level of craftsmanship
  • Professional – operates a registered business
  • Professional – has liability insurance, as appropriate to their business
  • Professional – agrees to follow the AIPP Code of Ethics and AIPP Terms and Conditions of Membership
  • Professional – agrees to abide by the AIPP Accredited Membership Business Requirements
  • Experienced – every Accredited Member has a minimum of two years industry experience or has completed a minimum two year photographic program before applying for Accreditation
  • Experienced – Has the skill, creativity, style and ability to get the job done on time and on budget
  • Never Stops Learning – through the AIPP Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program, all Accredited Members must take part in workshops and seminars throughout each year to ensure they continue to develop along with the industry
